STAGECOACH
(1939)
NOW IN COLOR
Starring
John Wayne, Claire Trevor, Thomas Mitchell and John Carradine.
John Ford's landmark Western revolves around an assorted group of colorful passengers aboard the Overland stagecoach bound for Lordsburg, New Mexico, in the 1880s. An alcoholic philosophizer and medical Doctor (Thomas Mitchell), a lady of ill repute (Claire Trevor) and a timid liquor salesman (Donald Meek) are among the motley crew of travelers who must contend with an escaped outlaw, the Ringo Kid (John Wayne), and the ever-present threat of an Apache attack as they make their way across the Wild West.
Stagecoach has been remade several times since the first 1939 version, but none even come near to the original. Includes a legendary stunt by the also legendary stunt man Yakima Canutt. The movie is well worth watching for this stunt alone.
Originally filmed in Black and White I have colorized it. This is a recent 2024 ai coloriztion, one which I am very pleased with. Please check out the stills taken from the actual movie.
All the pictures displayed are actual screen shots taken from the movie.
