KISS ME STUPID
(1964)
NOW IN COLOR
Starring
Dean Martin, Kim Novak, and Ray Walston.
Dino, the charismatic Las Vegas singer, stops for petrol on his journey to Hollywood in Climax, Nevada. The slick gas-station attendant is Barney Millsap, an aspiring lyricist who collaborates with Orville Spooner, the local piano instructor, to write pop songs. By sabotaging Dino's vehicle, Barney devises a plan to have Dino perform one of their songs on an upcoming television special. To amuse Dino, Barney reaches out to the town's beauty, Polly, hiring her to act as Orville's wife Zelda for an evening. Although she is not fond of Dino, she enjoys her role as Orville's stand-in wife. Dino visits a bar, where he encounters the real Zelda, and they spend the night together while Polly is with Orville.
