A shell-shocked, unidentified soldier is found wandering naked on the battlefields, unable to speak or remember his identity. The men dub him "Angel" because he saved the life of one of their officers. Along with other wounded soldiers, Angel is cared for by the beautiful and spirited nurse Sophia Carey. Romance soon blossoms between nurse and patient, but their happiness may be threatened, as the road to the truth about Angels past proves to be a  tangled and complicated web of mystery. Who is this unknown soldier.
